“The Hidden Workforce” is about the positive impact that people who live with different abilities make to the workforce and the world around them.
On our show, you will hear:
Stories from people who live with a massive variety of different abilities who are breaking stigmas and shattering the glass ceilings placed over them. We have had CEOs, business owners, actors, actresses, authors, community contributors, survivors, and more who live with disabilities of all types and severities on our show sharing their stories and how they are where they are today.
Leaders from nonprofits all over the state of Oklahoma, Nationwide, and Worldwide who are serving people who live with disabilities.
Representatives from State agencies such as DRS, DDS, and more on the programs and services they offer to serve people with disabilities.
Service Providers and Provider Agencies.

What Did We Hear Last Week?
Last week, we continued our Open Ears Open Opportunities REV UP the Vote series.
REV UP stands for Register, Educate, Vote, and Use Your Power!
In this episode, we welcomed back our friend and former guest, Oklahoma self-advocate Bryce Wooten, as he shared with us why voting is important from a self-advocate perspective as well as more about the new AAPD REV UP Coalition being formed in Oklahoma to engage voters living with disabilities in the voting process!

What is Slated for This Week’s Show?
This week, we’re pausing our OEOO REV UP series to continue our series of shows from the NABIS Live collaborative podcast series on Episode 241 of The Hidden Workforce!
Let’s welcome Dr. Beth Slomine! In this episode, Dr. Slomine shares with us about Pediatric Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injury, and how she has focused her career and research on improving outcomes for children who have experienced TBI/ABI.

“Dr. Beth Slomine is Assistant Vice President of Psychology and Co-Director of the Brain Injury Clinical Research Center and at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is also the Director of Rehabilitation Neuropsychology within the Center for Neuropsychological and Psychological Assessment at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has a secondary appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She is a licensed psychologist, board certified clinical neuropsychologist, and board-certified subspecialist in pediatric neuropsychology. Her clinical research program focuses on neurobehavioral measurement, outcomes, and interventions following pediatric neurological injury. Dr. Slomine has authored >100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, numerous book chapters, and co-edited a textbook entitled Cognitive Rehabilitation for Pediatric Neurological Conditions.” (https://braininjurysummit2026.org/speaker/beth-slomine/)
