What Did We Hear Last Week?
Last week, we continued our Open Ears Open Opportunities REV UP the Vote series.
In this episode, we welcomed Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Candidate, Dr. Kelly Forbes as he shared with us about why he is running for office, his experiences that have shaped him to run for office, and with a couple questions inspired by the Developmental Disability Council of Oklahoma’s candidate questionnaire, we explored specifically how Dr. Forbes would address helping and serving Oklahomans who live with disabilities through the office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Check out this episode on Spotify, Apple, or iHeart Radio to listen to it anytime you need a podcast fix!

What is Slated for This Week’s Show?
This week, we’re continuing our Open Ears Open Opportunities REV UP the Vote series on Episode 243 of The Hidden Workforce!
REV UP stands for Register, Educate, Vote, and Use Your Power!
Your right to vote is your power! Especially when it comes to demographics, such as our friends who live with different abilities, that are under-represented at these crucial voting booths!
In this show series, we empower and educate our friends with different abilities and their loved ones on all they need to know about voting, accessibility in voting, why voting is important, what the different offices up for election are in Oklahoma and why they are important- as well as information about all the candidates up for these different offices (and help you learn/know how to do your own research), and so much more! Every episode is produced inclusively with differently abled self-advocates with a differently abled self-advocates’ voice and perspective participating in the conversation as well!
In this episode, we are kicking off sharing about the different candidates running for different offices in Oklahoma. For this episode, we’re focusing on the Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General Candidates that will go to the General Election November 3rd!
